We have a choice.
Jesus said that we have a CHOICE and the decision BEGINS with an “EITHER OR” determination of our OWN choosing….to follow Him or not.
We GET to decide our direction.
In the book of Matthew (chapter 16), Jesus gives His disciples two paths for forward action of their lives: they could choose to either LIVE by the concerns of God or live by the human concerns of man.
See His disciples THEN were given specific CHOICES with directives. And so even today so are we…
We, too, have been given the same choice FORWARD to follow Him or not.
Jesus says,
“whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it” (verses 24-25).
They were bound by nothing from making their choice.
They were never stuck in circumstances of life or forced into compliance of His way.
All they had to decide was if they wanted to live their life for Him and His kingdom OR for themselves by the standards of culture.
Easy choice right? What’s your choice?
You and I both have the same choice to make…

Jesus was right in front of them PREACHING, TEACHING, and PERFORMING miracles….surely the disciples thought, “this is a no-brainer” question.

Of course they wanted HIM and His Kingdom more than what the WORLD had to offer.
Do you?
Well that’s the same CHOICE that we have to make TODAY.
So which choice do you make?
Make the choice today. You are not stuck by any circumstance or any part of your past. In this PRESENT MOMENT, a choice is to be made.

Consider the following as Jesus continues prompting:
“what good will it be for someone to get in the whole world yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give an exchange for their soul?”
We have a CHOICE.
Our most important choice is to decide what we desire more… living for the purpose of ourselves OR to follow the ways and path of Jesus and LIVE for HIM.
Do we want to fulfill the desires of our flesh or secure the destiny of our soul? The choice is ours…it begins in the COMMITMENT. The CONFIDENCE comes after the COURAGE to move forward.
